Getting more...cultured...

So another day by myself with out any friends, I decided to go and try to buy a phone so I can talk with my friends in town...that came here with me and friends that I make here...I got one, nothing special but it'll work. In case anyone wants to know it just email me or leave a comment and I'll get it to you

After that I went into a store to check it out, I ended up hanging out with they guys in there for a few hours just talking, they spoke English quite well...at least 2 out of the 3 did...they were all skaters and had a store with American brand skate attire...it was fun, hopefully we'll be hanging out and what not and they can help me out with my Portuguese

That was pretty much the end of the day, it's been raining for a few hours and I've just been chillin' inside...Until next time

Pics from around town!!

Here's my supermarket...Dia...nothing special, haha, but it works. And then one of a hill leading to my apartment and some of a main street, Rua Paulista.

Here are some pics from the park I went to today...an awesomely huge park, I just wish it was closer to home; I did a ton of walking today...way more than before, I calculated it to be over 15 miles, haha never in my life have I walked so much

Pics!!

I've only taken 2 photos so far...haha...but here they are...I need to take some more, but I figured that I've got a few months to take some so...ya

Out on the town!

Today was my first full day in Sao Paulo, it is quite the city...I explained it to Josh as something of hybrid between San Fran and New York. There's a lot of hills and a lot of green, then there is tons of huge building, lots of traffic and nowhere to park, everyone is real friendly and relaxed. I need to get a bike so I can see more of the town...probably four hours or so of walking today, really gets to you

I got some shopping done for things that I needed, everything here so far has been really cheap...except a bike, haha...the food has been awesome, they have a huge variety, from Brazilian to Italian, Lebanese to Mcdonalds. I had some hot dog type thing today, it had a lot of weird toppings but it was pretty good

I found my school today, and got to take a tour of it and everything...it is very nice, and I am excited to start going there next week

I'm trying to build my vocab to talk to people, but it is really hard to listen and understand what they are saying...trying to get food or bargin for a lower price on stuff has been quite hard...I'll get it down better, it'll just take a lot more time

Until next time...Tchau

Day One!

Now that I have a little more time...and since I can't sleep and it's 2:30 in the morning, I figured it would be a good time to hit this up

I made it to my apartment and got all moved in, I'm living with a Brazilian guy who studied in New York, and a French girl who is studying down here as well. I had time to walk around today and try not to get lost...haha. It was fun, lots and lots of hills here. No one really speaks English here, so that makes it pretty hard, but I guess it'll be better for me in the long run fi I really wanna learn Portuguese

I can't wait to figure this city out so I can go explore, I tried to find a Carrefour...it's the biggest competitor to Wal-Mart, I think it's a French company...but I could find it after walking 3 or 4 miles. Oh well, I got to take a taxi home and figure out how that works...next is the bus system, haha

Other than that everything is going great, if you have any question let me know

Brazil!!

Just to let everyone know...I made it down here, as of about an hour ago. YAY!!

I'm still waiting for the guy, Alvaro, to pick me up...he's running a little late. But if he doesn't show I know my address so I can just catch a cab.

A lot less people speak english here than other countries...so far at least. I've already had trouble at customs and the Federal Police...haha. No worries thought, that just means I gotta get my portuguese down a whole lot better

Thanks for all the prayers, I'll try to get back on this thing soon
